Folk Songs of the Great Lakes Region

Released 1990
Total Playing Time:  xx:xx

Temporarily out of print

This Recording has been upgraded --
Lake Rhymes

In 1990, Lee Murdock released a book-and-tape study guide package to accompany his in-school assembly programs. The package was very popular, even among non-teachers. Folk Songs of the Great Lakes Region is now out of print, but only temporarily.

The program is currently undergoing a major upgrade. Watch this space for more information. We hope to release the new and greatly improved Folk Songs of the Great Lakes Region by the end of summer (September, 2003), featuring:
  • 72 minutes of recorded music – now on CD.
  • Songbook – musical scores for the songs.
  • Improved educational resources on each song, including background information for teachers, vocabulary and other learning exercises.
  • Expanded bibliography, including reference materials for teachers and adult readers, as well as recommended children’s books.
  • Online companion to Folk Songs of the Great Lakes Region, including links and updates to some of the bibliography items, and to additional resources for teachers. We envision this online companion as a growing resource for educators.

Bookmark this page, and check back in late summer for updates.
